Activists Shut Down Scientific Panel on Homosexuality

National homosexual activist leaders once again showed their unwillingness to participate in an open discussion and defend their arguments. Similar to the issue of intelligent design and evolution, the discussion over the harmful and potentially deadly lifestyle of homosexuality is not taking place even in professional circles, and scientists and psychiatrists are censored from presenting factual evidence and hope for recovery from homosexuality. A recent example of this censorship: the American Psychiatric Association (APA) shut down a panel on "Homosexuality and Therapy" after homosexual activists protested the inclusion of two evangelical therapists. At first the APA refused to cave to the pressure, but after keynote speaker and openly homosexual Bishop V. Gene Robinson dropped out, the conference shut down. Only 2.9% of Americans engage in the homosexual lifestyle, but this demographic is outstandingly vocal and assertive in political and social policy. If conservative Christians spoke out with equal passion Christ's message of truth, hope and love, one can only imagine the transformation.

"Evangelical Manifesto" Seen As Criticism of Christian Involvement

An "Evangelical Manifesto" was released today, allowing the media to send a conflicting message by some Christian leaders that faith has become too politicized in America, while at the same time calling for a broader political agenda beyond key issues of abortion and homosexuality. The report can be accredited with a positive call for Christians to be concerned with issues of justice and the poor, unfortunately due to the publicly critical way it is written, any positive message might fall on deaf ears while a negative message is trumpeted. Evangelical leaders like Focus on the Family's James Dobson, Free Market's Kelly Shackelford and Southern Baptist Convention's Richard Land who did not sign onto the report have all supported speaking truth with love to American culture and informing the church and government on ways to enforce freedoms that open doors to the Gospel in our society. Having faith in the world takes wisdom and discernment, but not a refusal to stand. Instead of confronting fellow brothers and sisters directly with political concerns, sponsors of the "Evangelical Manifesto" have chosen to use media-hype and the limelight to confess errors. This unfortunately caters to our culture's hostility towards Christianity, is not the way to rally the church together, and is being used by the media to try to discourage believers.  CLICK HERE to read the Manifesto.

True Blue Bias: Texas Professors Give to Democrats over Republicans 3-1

College professors in Texas possess a blaring liberal bent, donating to Democratic candidates 3-1 over Republican candidates. According to Houston Chronicle research of Federal Election Commissions records, this disparity is overwhelming. In 2008, faculty members of Texas universities contributed $406,384 (71%) to Democratic candidates and committees, in contrast to $135,216 (24%) to Republican candidates and committees. Contributions to presidential candidates reflect the same trend, with Senator Hillary Clinton receiving the most funds, just ahead of Senator Barack Obama and far ahead of Senator John McCain. The report shows that higher education academics are out of touch with Texas mainstream culture, considering that polls show the Presidential race is close between the Republican and Democratic candidates. In the past few years, the national field of academia has taken on a growing role in politics and with it an increasing influence for Democrats, who receive 75% of the political money donated by professors nationwide. These statistics reflect that academia is putting their money where their mouth is and sheds light on the partisan and more liberal bias students are fed in the influential years of college. This liberal inclination is also apparent in research that is often used to advise our lawmakers and administrative leaders.
